China’s Emerging Metropolitan Regions

Adam Meyer has posted a guide to China’s emerging metropolitan regions at newgeography.com.  He points out that ” .  .  .  there are 85 metropolitan areas in China with more than 1 million people, compared to 51 in the US. By 2015, urban regions will account for half of China’s population and by 2025, the urban population’s share should reach about 75%.”

In 2010, the total population of just the top 20 Chinese metropolitan areas was over 133 million.  How many of the names in the list below are familiar to you?
